hey, i'm ayla

I became a photographer in 2018 as a young, anxious mother just dying to hold on to something that made me feel seen and that connected me to others. I found my 'third eye', my camera, and a whole new world opened. This career has grown with me just as my children have, just as myself has. I'm a deep-feeling, refuse to hold back my tears, point out the birds, take photos of the moon kinda woman. I like to make you laugh, teach you something, and learn something from you.
Photo sessions should feel energetically aligned. Let's start with a phone call to see if we are a match!

family first.

I'm a mother of three wild, cool, amazing kids. My children are the best humans I know and the work of honoring them and their childhoods is the most beautiful and humbling thing I've ever been called to.
I mother with honesty, with joy, and a lot of pasta dinners.
My partner and I spend almost every waking hour in the kitchen. Whether it be pulling espresso shots, shaping sourdough, or babysitting a bolognese, you can find us in the heart of the home with the music up and a project happening. Mr. Ayla (the talented and handsome Andy) makes appearances at sessions to help with setup and lighting.

my work style

I know being photographed can feel vulnerable.
Most people worry they’ll look awkward, that their kids won’t cooperate, or that they’ll somehow “do it wrong.” So I’ve built my sessions to feel the opposite of pressure.
Relaxed. Guided. Gentle. Human.
You can show up as you are — laugh, move, hold your people close — and I’ll shape the light, the composition, and the timing around you.
Clients often tell me their session felt more like time spent together than a photoshoot.
