Whether you're coming from out of town or a local, these spots are sure to impress!

Garrard Landing Park, Alpharetta, GA
Garrard Landing Park in Alpharetta, GA
This easy-to-access location is filled with stroller-friendly trails, a fun playground with bathrooms nearby, and gentle creek that rolls through the park. Expect gravel and paved parking for your convenience. Roughly half an hour north of Atlanta's city-center, this location is a favorite for those in Cobb & Forsyth counties. Be warned, in fall (peak photography season), you may have to share spots with other photographers and their clients. You will have several backdrop options to choose from including a covered bridge and beautiful grasses with a reddish hue that add the perfect warmth to your images.
Green Meadows Preserve, Marietta, GA
Green Meadows Preserve, Marietta, GA
This expansive meadow nestled in the outskirts of Marietta, GA is a favorite amongst Cobb & Paulding county locals. What really makes this location shine is the endless fields of tall grasses that change throughout the seasons. In Spring you can expect bright green stems and blossoms that invite birds to join in on the beauty. Late in fall, you can catch yellow plumes of goldenrod. The nature lover in me delights in knowing that this landscape supports our ecosystem even though it is under 30 miles Northwest of Atlanta. Enjoy a paved parking lot and clean bathrooms, but do expect a short hike to make it to the meadow!
Arabia Mountain, DeKalb County, GA
One of Atlanta's most stunning landscapes, this location just might provide the most unique backdrop you could ever hope to have for your family, maternity, or engagement session. Featuring one of the largest pieces of exposed granite in the world, the rich black igneous rock adds a certain drama and edge to any image. Be warned, it is an uphill hike, so wear appropriate footwear and pack something more stylish to wear for the actual session (I'll carry your shoes for you!). For a short time in September, you can find yellow daisies dotting the rocks, adding the perfect pop of vibrance to your gallery. It is also important to note that the shallow sandy dips that adorn the landscape (and fill up with water to create glassy pools after rain) are home to a prehistoric plant known as diamorpha, so be sure to respect this living fossil and watch your step as you navigate this one of a kind terrain.
